From the Pastor – February 2007
Is February too late to thank you for Christmas gifts? Not just mine, which was very generous and much appreciated, but the gifts you gave to the Medford Family Life Education Center as well. When I looked at the Sanctuary tree around Christmas, presents were all over the place. Underneath the tree, on the floor, in front of the rail, everywhere I looked. When I loaded the gifts into the car, they filled up the trunk, the front seat, and the back (and I’ve got a fairly big car).
It is that kind of generosity and caring that makes me so proud to be your pastor. Whenever there is a need, you’re right there. Not just at Christmas, but all the time. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard someone say how many cards they’ve received from members of First Community because they’ve been sick or lost a loved one.
So please consider this letter as both a belated Christmas thank you, and as my Valentine’s Day “card” to you. I truly love being here, and I love you.
Pastor Tony
