From the Pastor
The United Methodist Church is a connectional church, a vital web of interactive relationships. We are connected by sharing a common tradition of faith, a constitutional polity, a common mission, and a common ethos that characterizes our distinctive way of doing things.
One of the ways our connection expresses itself is through our cluster. A cluster is a group of United Methodist churches in a given geographic area. Our cluster is made up of the churches in Malden, Medford, Melrose and Somerville (in fact, if it weren’t for the church in Somerville, we could call ourselves “3M” (Malden, Medford, Melrose.)
On the 6th of this month, our cluster will be holding its annual “celebration of ministry” at Good Shepherd in Malden from 5-8pm. This is a chance for all of us to gather together to share with one another what we are doing in ministry; to celebrate our successes, and pray for one another’s struggles.
I strongly encourage you to participate in this living example of the church as “the Body of Christ.”
