From the Pastor - October 2009
Announcements have been made, invitations have been sent, and planning continues for “old home day.” If you’ve somehow missed seeing the announcements or the invitation, it’s the weekend of the 18th.
The weekend begins on the 17th with our Harvest fair from 9:30am to 2pm. Last year’s fair was a great success, and we’re very grateful to Cheryl Murphy for her willingness to once again organize the event.
Worship will be on the 18th at 10:30 with a special sermon entitled “homecoming.” That will be followed by luncheon and then a time of friendship and fellowship from 1-4.pm.
I want to thank Dot Seamster for the great idea of bringing back “old home day.” I also want to thank both her and Luci Rexroad for the excellent job they have done in getting the word out and organizing the whole thing. First Community is truly blessed to have dedicated people like Dot and Luci committed to the vibrancy of our church.
I look forward to seeing you at “Old Home Day.”
